“Trump Brokers Gaza Peace Deal, Aims for Lasting Peace”

Must read

U.S. President Donald Trump has achieved a significant diplomatic victory by brokering a deal to end the conflict in Gaza. The agreement aims to save the lives of Israeli hostages and Palestinian civilians. Trump’s success in securing the release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas and orchestrating the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza is being hailed as a major accomplishment during his presidency.

Although the deal still needs to be put into action, it falls short of the “eternal peace” that Trump has declared it to be. Despite this, even some of Trump’s critics are acknowledging his efforts. Former national security adviser John Bolton, who had criticized Trump in the past, commended the White House team for their role in the agreement.

Bolton suggested that Trump could be a contender for the Nobel Peace Prize if the deal holds. This recognition, however, was awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado this year. The ceasefire in Gaza has garnered praise for Trump, especially considering his previous unsuccessful attempts to resolve the conflict.

The turning point came when Israel conducted an airstrike on Doha, the capital of Qatar, which displeased Trump. This incident prompted Trump to push Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accept the peace deal. The agreement signifies the end of the war, not just a temporary ceasefire, according to former Israeli negotiator Gershon Baskin.

Experts believe that Trump’s ability to influence Netanyahu played a crucial role in reaching the agreement. If the deal holds, Trump’s full 20-point peace plan, including provisions for Palestinian self-determination and statehood, could be implemented. While late-night shows and even some unlikely sources are acknowledging Trump’s role in the peace deal, it remains to be seen if the agreement will lead to lasting peace in the region.
