Canucks’ Myers Fined $2,500 for Slash

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers has been fined $2,500 by the NHL Department of Safety for a slashing incident involving Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. The fine was announced on Sunday following an incident that occurred during the third period of the Canucks’ 3-1 loss to the Oilers on Saturday night.

During the game, at 8:25 of the third period, Myers made contact with McDavid in the groin area with his stick as McDavid was heading towards the net without the puck. Despite no penalty being called on the play, Myers was later penalized for delay of game at 9:07 of the same period.
