Quebec provincial police are initiating a fresh effort to gather information one year after Liam Toman disappeared at Mont Tremblant. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) will establish a command post at the ski resort this Saturday, located near the hotel where the 22-year-old from Ontario was last observed in the early hours of Feb. 2, 2025. The operation’s timing is aimed at prompting people’s memories.
SQ Sgt. Marc Tessier mentioned that the objective is to engage with tourists and regular visitors who frequent the resort annually. Tessier highlighted the importance of being present during the same weekend Toman went missing, as individuals returning to the resort might have relevant information.
Despite ongoing efforts, Toman’s vanishing remains a puzzle. Surveillance footage captured him multiple times on the night he disappeared, but he subsequently vanished. Although his wallet was later found, there has been no digital trace or financial activity in his accounts since that night.
Toman’s mother, Kathleen, will be at the resort this weekend, situated at an information booth near the police command center. Kathleen Toman expressed hope that returning visitors may recall crucial details that could aid in advancing the investigation. She encouraged guests to review old photos taken at the resort around the same time last year, emphasizing that even minor background details in a picture could hold significance.
A $50,000 reward is being provided for any information leading to Toman’s whereabouts. Authorities urge anyone with relevant details to visit the command post this Saturday or reach out to the Sûreté du Québec for assistance.
