“Comedian Russell Brand Pleads Not Guilty to New Rape Charges”

Must read

British comedian Russell Brand has entered a plea of not guilty to fresh charges of rape and sexual assault in court on Tuesday. These new allegations, dating back to 2009, were denied by Brand, who is already facing similar charges involving four women. The Crown Prosecution Service revealed that in April, the 50-year-old comedian was charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault.

The accusations span between 1999 and 2005, with incidents reported in Bournemouth and London involving the four women. Brand had previously pleaded not guilty to these charges earlier in the year in a London court. A trial has been set for June, anticipated to run for four to five weeks. A hearing next month will determine whether the new allegations will be consolidated with the existing case, with Brand’s lawyer requesting more time to address the latest charges.

During his court appearance, Brand sported a white cowboy hat and sunglasses, expressing that he felt “blessed.” Known for his flamboyant style and work as a BBC radio presenter, Brand gained popularity on British screens in the 2000s. The actor, recognized for his provocative stand-up routines, has faced struggles with substance abuse and retreated from mainstream media in recent times. He has since amassed a significant online following through content blending wellness advice, conspiracy theories, and discussions about his religious beliefs.
