Esther Okoronkwo’s journey to professional soccer began in the streets of Abia, Nigeria, where she strived to keep up with her older brother and his friends. Despite early challenges, her love for the game blossomed and eventually led her from local pitches to international success.

Following a challenging period recovering from a torn ACL while changing schools, Okoronkwo’s perseverance paid off when she secured a spot with AFC Toronto and later signed her first professional contract with AS Saint-Étienne in France. Despite setbacks, including a second ACL tear, she made a remarkable recovery and continued to excel in the sport.
