“Springsteen Slams Trump with ‘Streets of Minneapolis’ Anthem”

Must read

Bruce Springsteen has unveiled a new track titled “Streets of Minneapolis,” dedicated to the residents of Minneapolis and condemning President Donald Trump’s enforcement operations in the city. The song’s lyrics depict a city in turmoil under the control of what Springsteen refers to as “King Trump’s private army.”

Springsteen stated that he wrote and recorded the song in response to a recent fatal incident involving federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, honoring the victims Alex Pretti and Renee Good. The song, which starts with just an acoustic guitar and vocals and gradually adds more instrumentation, concludes with a call to “ICE Out!”

In a rebuttal to Springsteen’s song, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson emphasized the administration’s commitment to collaborating with state and local authorities to remove criminal illegal aliens from communities. Jackson dismissed the song as irrelevant and filled with inaccurate opinions.

This latest release by Springsteen reflects his ongoing criticism of President Trump, with whom he has had public disagreements. Last year, during a concert in England, Springsteen denounced the administration as corrupt and incompetent, prompting Trump to retaliate by calling the iconic musician an “overrated dried out prune of a rocker.”
