The Rolling Stones have announced the upcoming release of their new album, “Foreign Tongues,” set to debut on July 10. Alongside the album announcement, the band has also unveiled a new single titled “In The Stars.”
To mark the occasion, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood will be present at a special event in Brooklyn later today. The last album released by The Stones was “Hackney Diamonds” in 2023, marking their first collection of original songs in 18 years since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005. Notably, the late drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021, is featured posthumously on two tracks from “Hackney Diamonds.”
“Foreign Tongues” will feature a collaboration with Watts from one of his final recording sessions, as well as contributions from music icons such as Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith from The Cure, and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Mick Jagger expressed his enthusiasm for the album, highlighting the intense recording sessions held in London.
The Rolling Stones worked with acclaimed producer Andrew Watt on their previous album and continue this partnership on “Foreign Tongues.” Anticipation for the new album had been building, with cryptic teasers such as posters under the pseudonym “The Cockroaches” and billboards featuring the album title in different languages appearing globally.
Fans were treated to a vinyl-only release of the track “Rough and Twisted” under The Cockroaches name, providing a glimpse into what to expect from “Foreign Tongues.” The official album cover was revealed through a slide puzzle graphic on the band’s website, accompanied by a brief teaser video of a new song.
Excitement is mounting among fans as The Rolling Stones prepare to deliver their latest musical offering with “Foreign Tongues.”
