Drake and Anil Mohabir Illuminate Toronto Skyline

Must read

Anil Mohabir expressed his amazement at his recent collaboration with Drake to unveil the Toronto rapper’s latest music project. The collaboration involved projecting an icy blue wave of light up the CN Tower, accompanied by a fireworks display that illuminated downtown Toronto’s waterfront. This event marked the release of three albums at midnight: the highly anticipated “Iceman” and surprise drops “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.”

Mohabir, the founder of Studio AM, a renowned digital design firm in Toronto, was approached by Drake’s creative production team, DreamCrew, with the concept for the project just three weeks before its execution. The elaborate presentation required coordination with various teams, including the CN Tower’s lighting crews, Transport Canada, and the City of Toronto. Approximately 300 individuals were involved in bringing the vision to life, utilizing 75 projectors from Canada and international sources, with a total equipment value estimated at around $15 million.

The mesmerizing projection, which left onlookers in awe, was executed with precision and detailed planning. Prior to this event, Mohabir orchestrated a live stream where Drake rode through the city in an “Iceman”-branded truck. Drake’s promotional activities leading up to the album release included attention-grabbing stunts like leaving a large ice-block installation in a downtown parking lot and setting off a thunderous explosion at Downsview Park. Mohabir highlighted Drake’s commitment to showcasing Canadian creatives and enhancing the city’s cultural landscape.

Reflecting on their collaboration, Mohabir emphasized the opportunity provided by Drake to realize innovative concepts and dreams at a remarkable level, underscoring the impact of their work on the creative community in Toronto.
