Hilary Knight, the U.S. women’s hockey captain, not only won a medal at the Milano-Cortina Games but also got engaged to American speed skater Brittany Bowe. In a heartwarming Instagram video titled “Olympics brought us together,” Knight is seen proposing to Bowe, who happily accepts the ring. The engagement was confirmed by Team USA, and Knight is set to speak about it later today after the team’s practice session.
The couple first met at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games and have announced that this year’s Olympics will be their final appearance. Knight, who is participating in her record fifth Team USA women’s hockey Games, will be facing Canada in the gold medal final. Bowe, a two-time Olympic bronze medallist, narrowly missed out on medalling in her first two events but will be competing in the 1,500 meters race on Friday to conclude her Games journey.
