Olivia Rodrigo is drawing inspiration from Lilith Fair as she prepares to launch her own festival, Daisy Chain Fields, featuring an all-women lineup. The Grammy winner expressed her excitement on Instagram about realizing her dream of hosting the festival, set for Aug. 29 in Irvine, Calif. The lineup includes artists like Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, and more, with special guests McLachlan, Nicks, and O.
In an interview with Pitchfork, Rodrigo shared her vision for the festival, aiming to address societal issues and promote inclusivity in lineups, similar to the original Lilith Fair. Despite being born after the original festival, Rodrigo has deep admiration for women singer-songwriters of the ’90s.
The festival, founded on the principles of joy, community, and creativity, will donate all net proceeds to organizations supporting women and girls’ causes. Rodrigo’s commitment to social causes is evident through her non-profit initiative, Fund 4 Good, established in 2023. Fans can now access presale tickets for the event, with general admission starting at $250 US.
Rodrigo’s latest album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” recently achieved her third consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard charts, following the success of her previous albums, “Sour” and “Guts.”
