“HBO Dominates 2026 Emmy Nominations with ‘The Pitt’ and ‘Hacks'”

Must read

The 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced today, and HBO took the lead with its series “The Pitt” receiving 25 nominations. Following closely behind is HBO’s “Hacks” with 24 nominations, setting a new record for the most Emmy nominations for a comedy series in its final season. The previous record was held by “Schitt’s Creek” with 18 nominations.

Apple TV also saw success with its shows. The dark comedy “Widow’s Bay” received 19 nominations, while the post-apocalyptic series “Pluribus” secured 16 nominations. Despite the Canadian show “Heated Rivalry” airing on Crave and not receiving any Emmy nominations due to foreign production requirements, lead actor Connor Storrie did receive a nomination for his appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”

The nominations were presented by previous Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller. The awards ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay from “Law & Order: SVU,” will take place on Sept. 14. This year, the Emmys will introduce a “legacy award” to honor programs that have had a significant and lasting impact on audiences and society.

The list of nominees includes categories such as Best Drama Series, Best Comedy Series, Best Limited or Anthology Series, and various acting categories. For a detailed list of all nominations, visit the Emmys website.
