Canadian entrepreneur Frank Stronach’s second trial on charges of sexual assault has been rescheduled to the following year. Stronach, currently awaiting a verdict in his Toronto sexual assault case, was initially slated to face trial in Newmarket, Ontario, this autumn. However, it was revealed in court on Wednesday that the jury trial is now planned to commence in May 2027 and is anticipated to span four weeks. Various motions, including a request to split the case into multiple trials, are planned for January and March. Stronach, the founder of automotive component company Magna International, faced 18 charges involving 13 accusers in 2024, but the case was later divided into two parts. The Toronto trial encompassed 12 charges from seven accusers, yet prosecutors have opted to proceed with only seven charges from four accusers. Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy, presiding over the trial without a jury, has indicated that she cannot convict Stronach on two charges related to one of the remaining accusers. Molloy aims to deliver her decision at the upcoming hearing in June.
