Originally the star of the cop-dog procedural, Reardon had to step away in Season 8 due to a battle with tonsil cancer during Season 7. Despite being cleared by doctors to return, a decision was made to go with English actor Luke Roberts instead.

Production for the upcoming season is slated to commence in June in St. John’s, N.L. The storyline teaser suggests a dramatic return for Charlie Hudson to St. John’s following his expedition to South America in search of his missing brother.
