A tragic incident unfolded during a youth hockey game in Rhode Island recently, resulting in a fatal shooting that has now claimed a third life. Pawtucket police confirmed the passing of Gerald Dorgan, who had been in critical condition following the attack.
Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien expressed sorrow over the loss of another individual due to the shooting. He extended condolences to the victim’s family, friends, and all affected by the violent act.
The victims of the shooting were identified as Gerald Dorgan’s daughter, Rhonda Dorgan, and grandson, Aidan Dorgan. The shooter, Robert Dorgan, 56, also known as Roberta Esposito and Roberta Dorgano, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities revealed that Robert Dorgan’s ex-wife was Rhonda Dorgan, and his adult son was Aidan Dorgan.
Officials stated that the shooter had targeted family members in this tragic incident. Rhonda Dorgan’s mother, Linda Dorgan, and a family friend, Thomas Geruso, sustained injuries during the shooting.
Law enforcement acknowledged the swift actions of several individuals who intervened and halted the attack. Three bystanders managed to contain the shooter amidst the chaos as the crowd dispersed around them.
