Rudy Giuliani Showing Signs of Improvement

Must read

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has shown signs of improvement as he is now breathing independently following hospitalization due to pneumonia and the need for a ventilator, according to his spokesperson on Monday. Giuliani, 81, remains in critical but stable condition at a Florida hospital, where he is under observation as a precautionary measure. The spokesperson, Ted Goodman, mentioned that Giuliani’s health was exacerbated by a restrictive airway disease linked to his exposure to dust and toxins from the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001.

Giuliani was admitted to a hospital near Palm Beach, Florida, after experiencing coughing during his online talk show on Friday and informing viewers in a hoarse voice that he was feeling unwell. Goodman explained that Giuliani’s existing condition complicated any respiratory illness, leading to the rapid deterioration of his health, necessitating mechanical ventilation to manage oxygen levels and stabilize his condition.

Describing Giuliani as a resilient individual, Goodman expressed confidence in his recovery progress. Giuliani’s family and primary healthcare provider are providing support by his side, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of well wishes and support. Goodman highlighted Giuliani’s belief in the power of prayer, emphasizing the strength it brings during challenging times.

Known as “America’s mayor,” Giuliani’s legacy as the mayor of New York City was defined by his leadership during the 9/11 attack, earning him accolades and recognition including being named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. A Republican, Giuliani later pursued a presidential bid and served as a close advisor to former President Donald Trump, actively supporting Trump’s post-election endeavors in 2020.

Giuliani faced legal challenges following the 2020 election, with multiple lawsuits and allegations of election fraud that were ultimately dismissed. Subsequently, Giuliani was involved in a defamation lawsuit and was later disbarred in New York in 2024 for making false claims regarding voter fraud during the election. Despite these legal setbacks, Giuliani reached a settlement to retain his properties and assets.

Former President Trump granted pardons to Giuliani and other allies involved in the election dispute, with Trump also announcing his intention to award Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Giuliani’s recent health struggles come after a previous hospitalization in September due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Trump, in a social media post, praised Giuliani’s contributions and criticized the treatment he received from political opponents.

Overall, Giuliani’s health condition remains critical but stable, with ongoing medical care and support from loved ones as he continues his recovery journey.
