“Hilary Knight Competed at Olympics with Torn Knee Ligament”

Must read

U.S. women’s hockey captain Hilary Knight shared on a TV show that she competed at the Olympic Games in Milan with a torn knee ligament. Knight, who led her team to a gold medal victory, mentioned on “CBS Mornings” that she faced challenges due to the injury but received strong support from the staff to perform at her best.

At 36 years old, Knight tied the final against Canada before being placed on injured reserve along with teammates Kendall Coye Schofield and Canada’s Erin Ambrose upon their return to their PWHL teams. The trio missed several games as they recovered from their injuries.

Knight, along with U.S. men’s gold medalists Jack and Quinn Hughes, is scheduled to appear on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” This appearance follows their recent cameo on “Saturday Night Live” alongside Megan Keller, who scored the winning goal in the women’s hockey final.

Jack Hughes, currently playing for the New Jersey Devils, also secured a victory against Canada in overtime, mirroring Keller’s performance. This gold medal marks a significant achievement for the U.S., with the men’s team claiming their first victory since the historic 1980 “Miracle on Ice” in Lake Placid.

Both Hughes brothers have returned to NHL action, with Jack given a day off by the Devils before their appearance on Fallon’s show. The joint appearance is expected to conclude the Hughes brothers’ media appearances following their return from the Olympic Games.

Following the intense Olympic competition, emotions ran high as Canada’s captain, Marie-Philip Poulin, expressed her disappointment after the gold-medal loss to the United States. Poulin’s sentiments reflected the competitive spirit and intensity of the women’s hockey final, where the U.S. secured a dramatic victory over Canada in overtime.
