Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens in Canada and the U.S. are under a recall due to potential electric shock risks. The affected models are the NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, identifiable by their model numbers located on the back label of the toaster oven. The issue lies with the power cord insulation, which may not be adequately covered by a protective fiberglass sleeve, posing a danger of electric shock or fire.
Panasonic, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have advised consumers to cease using the impacted toaster ovens immediately and return them to Panasonic for a refund. For further details, consumers can access Panasonic’s recall site or contact Panasonic Canada at 1-888-422-6296.
Approximately 2,184 units were sold in Canada and around 11,500 in the U.S. between November 2025 and March 2026. Health Canada has not received any injury reports related to the power cord issue as of June 15. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping due to the toaster ovens but no injuries have been reported.
