“Health Canada Recalls Mislabelled THC Cannabis Pouches”

Must read

Health Canada has issued a recall for two cannabis products due to mislabeling of THC levels on the packaging. Consumers are advised to return or discard Chillows THC pouches in hot cinnamon and winter mint flavors. The products were labeled as containing 10 milligrams of THC per pouch but actually contain higher and varying levels of THC.

The affected products were distributed in Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia between April 16 and July 30 this year. Health Canada conducted an inspection in response to a consumer complaint and found increased THC levels in the pouches.

According to Health Canada, the inconsistent THC levels in each pouch could pose risks for users, making it challenging to gauge cannabis consumption accurately. Overconsumption of these pouches may result in symptoms such as confusion, anxiety, elevated heart rate, impaired thinking, physical and mental dysfunction, lowered blood pressure, and feelings of fear or panic. In severe cases, excessive cannabis intake could lead to psychotic episodes, especially in susceptible individuals.

Health Canada advises individuals disposing of the recalled products to ensure safe disposal, keeping them out of reach of children.
