The NHL team Edmonton Oilers has officially placed Tristan Jarry, their goaltender, on the injured reserve list as confirmed on Friday. Jarry sustained an injury during Edmonton’s recent 3-1 victory over Boston, where he was forced to exit the game in the second period after a quick slide to stop a shot.
This decision to move Jarry to the injured reserve follows his transfer to the Oilers from the Penguins alongside forward Sam Poulin a week ago. The trade involved sending Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak, and a 2029 second-round draft pick to Pittsburgh. Despite winning all three of his starts with Edmonton post-trade, Jarry has posted a 3.08 goals-against average and an .887 save percentage during this period.
To cover for Jarry’s absence, the Oilers have called up Connor Ingram from the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League to serve as backup to Calvin Pickard, who performed well during Thursday’s game against Boston.
Additionally, the Oilers have placed forward Jack Roslovic on long-term injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury suffered in their recent 8-3 defeat to Dallas, where he last played. Roslovic had shown great form this season with 10 goals and eight assists in 23 games before his injury.
The Oilers’ upcoming game will be against the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul on Saturday afternoon.
