Kristýna Kaltounkova netted two goals, and Kayle Osborne recorded a 31-save shutout as the New York Sirens triumphed over the Sceptres 2-0 in Toronto during the Professional Women’s Hockey League action on Tuesday. The win extended New York’s winning streak to four games, maintaining a record of 6-0-0-5.
Toronto’s Elaine Chuli made 20 saves but couldn’t prevent her team (4-0-3-4) from suffering their third consecutive loss. Kaltounkova redirected a shot from Jincy Roese early in the second period to open the scoring.
Despite missing a penalty shot opportunity, Kaltounkova sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final seconds of the game. The Sirens capitalized on their chances, securing the win in a hard-fought contest.
In the upcoming matches, the Sirens are set to face the Minnesota Frost on January 16, while the Sceptres will take on the Boston Fleet on January 14.
