“Canadian Military Personnel Not Deployed to Persian Gulf”

Must read

The Department of National Defence has verified that around 35 Canadian military personnel participating in an exchange program with a U.S. air force unit have not been sent to the Persian Gulf area. These Canadian Armed Forces members are currently working with the Canadian detachment of the 552nd Air Control Wing but have not departed from the United States for missions in the Gulf.

The 552nd Air Control Wing, stationed at the Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, has deployed six Boeing E-3G Sentry AWACS surveillance aircraft to a Saudi Arabian airbase amid ongoing tensions in the Iran conflict. National Defence has clarified that the Canadian Armed Forces are not part of Operation Epic Fury and were not involved in planning the conflict.

As of March 5, the Canadian Armed Forces have approximately 200 personnel deployed across various operations in the Middle East. Some military members have been relocated within the region or sent back to Canada. However, for security reasons, the department has refrained from disclosing specific personnel numbers at individual locations.
